BIOGRAPHY

Having been raised in Ecuador, Fiona is very much of the earth's equator. That is, she is of the Pacific Ocean, the Andes, the Amazon, and the Americas. She is neither north nor south, but both (having been born in New Jersey). She is a Citizen of the World, coming from a remarkable family that is noted for its contributions to society and its free spirit.

Fiona has always been an artist - she truly cannot help it. Given a spare moment, a medium, and a tool she will create something magical. As a kid she made her maternal grandmother squashed bug and flower perfumes. For the roads of Ecuador she created a racer made of cardboard boxes and her uncle's roller blades. And there were always the drawings and paintings. Recognizing Fiona's potential, her family enrolled her in courses to refine her painting, sculpting, and dancing talents. Even at an early age she won awards for her participation in art shows and cultural events.

Fiona returned to the United States in her late teens to pursue a formal arts education in Santa Fe, NM where she received a BFA in Painting from the College of Santa Fe.  While residing in Santa Fe, Fiona actively participated in art shows and the creation of several mural paintings, one of which was given an award by the mayor of Santa Fe. Continuing with her pursuit of the arts, Fiona moved to New York City were she currently lives. Her studio is located in the Lower East Side, where she is also involved in the local art scene. She has also exhibited her work at art spaces in both Chelsea and DUMBO.
